New general manager Tom Heckert carried out his cleaning of the Cleveland Browns with four firings.
Spokesman Neal Gulkis said Heckert tore apart the pro personnel group Thursday. A lot of the old guys hit the road such as senior director Steve Sabo who had been there since 1998, Keith O'Ouinn, Jim Jauch and James Kirkland. Sabo was good at scouting NFL team and advance game scouting. Pro personnel director O’Quinn spent one year with the Browns after coming over from the Dallas Cowboys. Jauch worked there for six seasons as an associate director of college and pro personnel. Assistant director Kirkland entered the Browns in 2004. It is said that this Philadelphia’s former GM wants to bring his own people to coach the players with browns jerseys.
